Fiji is a country in Oceania in the southern hemisphere. The archipelago consists of 322 islands of which 106 are inhabited. The two main islands are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. The islands are very mountainous, with peaks above 1300 meters, the highest point of the Tomanivi Victoria, 1324m. There is a tropical climate and the islands are covered with tropical forests. On Viti Levu is the capital, Suva, where nearly three quarters of the total population. Other major cities on Viti Levu are Lautoka and Nadi (where the international airport is located). Fiji's main source of income is tourism.
